9-Day Break

• Day 1 – We travel to Belgium and stop for an overnight stay.
• Day 2 – We arrive in the Austrian Tirol for six nights. B,D
• Day 3 – Innsbruck (included). Famed for its culture, history and natural beauty Innsbruck came to prominence under the rule of the Habsburgs in the 15th century, when the Emperor Maximilian based his imperial court here. Many fine buildings are a testament to the city's regal past, including the famous Golden Roof and the Hofburg Palace, whilst the Maria Theresien street is also a must; our sightseeing tour (optional, included on Silver Service) takes in these famous sights. We'll also see the Olympic Ice Stadium, the Berg Isel Ski jump and the Rococo architecture of the interior of the Wilten Basilica, said to be the most beautiful church of its kind in the Tirol. B,L,D
• Day 4 – Kitzbuhel & the Gisela Train (optional). From Zell-am-See we board the 'Gisela' train, built by the Royal Imperial Railway Company in 1920, and take a nostalgic ride through the hills to Kitzbühel. The centrepiece of the original train is the Royal Imperial Mail Carriage, which was built in 1910. B,L,D
• Day 5 – Salzburg (included). One of the most beautiful cities in Austria, Salzburg offers lovely squares and medieval lanes, Gothic churches and quaint cafés. Many beautiful Baroque buildings bear testament to the city's illustrious past, once ruled by the powerful and wealthy bishops. It is also famed, as the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and, more recently, as the setting for 'The Sound of Music'. Our guided walking sightseeing tour (optional) is a wonderful opportunity to discover this beautiful city, with sights featured in the film, along with many other attractions. Admire the Baroque splendour of the churches and cathedral, the might of the Hohensalzburg fortress and also the quaint Getreidegasse, one of the most beautiful shopping streets in Austria. We also visit Mozart's birthplace. B,L,D
• Day 6 – Munich (included). Formerly capital of the kingdom of Bavaria, Munich has many outstanding buildings and monuments including the Frauenkirche Cathedral and the city hall with its famous glockenspiel. Modern shopping arcades, excellent restaurants and famous beer halls, where you can sample traditional Bavarian cooking and a glass of the beer, can also be found here. Our sightseeing tour (optional, included on Silver Service) captures the main sights and attractions of the Bavarian capital city, which although heavily bombed during WW2, has been rebuilt in the original style to present the visitor with a wonderful combination of old and new. • Day 7 – Achensee & the Ziller Valley (optional). We travel to lovely Lake Achensee, where we spend the morning exploring the beautiful alpine surroundings, before continuing to the traditional alpine resort of Mayrhofen. The town itself, nestled at the end of the Ziller Valley, is the third largest community in the Tirol, and there's free time to discover the fashionable shops. B,L,D
• Day 8 – We travel to our hotel in Belgium for the night. B
• Day 9 – We journey to Calais, then return home. B

You'll stay for six nights at the 3-star Hotel Austria in the charming village of Soll in the Austrian Tirol. The hotel has a restaurant, bar and a lift. All bedrooms have T.V. Overnight stays in Belgium are in city-style hotels.
