8-Day Break

• Day 1 – Sit back for our express overnight journey to Austria (Silver Service includes an overnight stay in Belgium).
• Day 2 – We arrive in the Austrian Tirol in the morning for five nights (evening arrival on Silver Service). D
• Day 3 – Salzburg (included). One of Austria's most beautiful destinations, the 'Sound of Music city' has delighted Leger Holidays guests for years. See enchanting squares, medieval lanes, Gothic churches and quaint cafés; we even see where Mozart was born, now a museum. For unique views, take the funicular to Hohensalzburg castle. The Salzburg sightseeing tour (optional), with Englishspeaking guide, introduces the Baroque cathedral, the imposing Hohensalzburg fortress and the quaint Getreidegasse, for great shopping. B,D
• Day 4 – Kufstein and Swarovski Crystal World (optional). To Kufstein, home to a major fortress, a jewel in the lower region of Tirol. Then on to Swarovski Crystal World at Wattens. Swarovski is considered by many to be the finest lead crystal made today. See the exhibition and perhaps treat yourself or buy some presents. B,D
• Day 5 – Tirolean Steam Train (optional). We travel along the scenic Ziller Valley Railway from Jenbach to Mayrhofen. We have lunch at a typical Austrian Inn, then head to the Rattenberg glass factory, for an interesting demonstration of glass-blowing, glass carving and painting. We also learn about candle-making at the Brixlegg factory, where the wax is dipped and carved by hand. B,D
• Day 6 – Zell Am See & Kitzbühel (optional, included on Silver Service). The lakeside promenade of Lake Zell is lovely to stroll along, enjoying the spectacular lake and mountain scenery. Later, we visit the chic ski resort of Kitzbühel, with its walled Old Town. Opt for a cable car ride up the mighty Hahnenkamm Mountain to see the amazing views. Also recommended is an optional fiaker ride (horse and carriage) through the Old Town. B,D
• Day 7 – There’s some free time in the Austrian Tirol before our express overnight journey home (Silver Service includes an overnight stay in Belgium and departs after breakfast). B
• Day 8 – Continue to Calais then return home. B

Accommodation

You'll stay in the Austrian Tirol for five nights in a 3-star hotel, such as the Gasthof Ascherwirt in Brandenburg. This hotel has a restaurant, bar and lift. All bedrooms have a T.V. and telephone.
For SILVER SERVICE departures, en route overnight stays in Belgium are in city-style hotels, with continental breakfast.

Our family-operated Gasthof Ascherwirt is located right in the village center. Enjoy authentic Tirolean hospitality in a stylish ambiance. The innkeeper himself is chef de cuisine and will pamper you with culinary delights served in the cosy lounge or in the rustic dining hall. All rooms have bathtub or shower and toilet. Amenities include TV, radio, private balcony (additional beds are available for each double room). Sauna, tanning beds, table tennis, TV room, elevator are also available in the hotel.
