4 Day Itinerary

Day One

Leaving the local area in the early morning we travel to Dover or Folkestone for our Channel crossing, arriving at our by mid-evening.

Day Two

This morning we'll head to Amsterdam. Visit the Royal Palace, the renowned Rijksmuseum or the Van Gogh Museum, and wander the cobbled streets and bridges in search of little markets and interesting shops and stores, or join our optional excursion to Volendam. Explore this traditional Markenmeer fishing village, and visit a local cheese farm and clog-making shoe factory.

In the afternoon, why not join our optional Amsterdam canal cruise to see the step-gabled buildings that line the three 'grand' canals: the Herengracht, Prisengracht and Keizersgracht? Some house cosy pubs, others shops, others elegant, half-hidden hotels - but most are home to residents of this beautiful, cosmopolitan city.

Day Three

After breakfast we'll head to the small town of Zundert, birthplace of Vincent Van Gogh, for your visit to Europe's oldest Flower Parade. Each of the hamlets surrounding the town designs and builds its own float, grows the thousands of dahlias needed to cover it and competes for the coveted Best in Parade prize.

From the comfortable viewpoint of your reserved seat you'll see the huge, complex flower sculptures parade through town as a carnival atmosphere fills the streets. And you'll have time to enjoy an early dinner here (payable locally) before we return to the hotel.

Day Four

Today we'll begin our journey home. En route we'll stop in Bruges, for a short visit and the chance to discover its network of canals, fine medieval architecture and magnificent town square. From here we'll continue to Calais, cross the Channel and head for home, arriving back at your original pick-up point by late evening.

You will be staying at a carefully chosen three-star standard hotel within a convenient coach journey of both Zundert and Amsterdam. Bedrooms in all the hotels are comfortably furnished, and all offer private facilities. All hotels will also have good restaurant and bar facilities.
